Dear Members,

The public meetings to hear comments on the AlaskaCare Draft Retiree Health Plan Booklet will be held as published.  We did request an extension of the public meeting dates due to the short notification of the meetings.  Following the updated public notice is an emailed response from Retirement and Benefits, updating us on a Juneau meeting on March 7, that additional meetings will be scheduled in April, and that a call-in number for the Juneau meeting is forthcoming.

Please attend these meetings and let Retirement and Benefits hear your concerns about the draft health plan booklet.  It is confusing and we get inaccurate information from Aetna when we call them.  The plan booklet needs to be written for clarity and understanding by AlaskaCare participants, as well as Aetna representatives.

Notice of Public Meeting

The Alaska Division of Retirement and Benefits will hold  informational meetings in Anchorage, on Monday, March 3, 2014, from 11  a.m. to 2 p.m. and in Fairbanks on Tuesday March 4, 2014, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The purpose of the meetings is to answer retiree questions  about the draft retiree insurance booklet. Additional meetings will be scheduled in April.

Monday, March 3, 2014 (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Anchorage meeting location:

Tuesday, March 4, 2014 (1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.) Fairbanks meeting location:
